Interim/Ultimate
-

N. Hamilton Rd. & Clark State Rd. Gahanna, OH
MTJ Engineering’s Mark Johnson, P.E. provided the horizontal design, signing and marking recommendation for this roundabout project in Gahanna, Ohio, working as a technical expert to MS Consultants.
-

E. Bogard Rd. & Trunk Rd. Palmer, AK
MTJ Roundabout Engineering provided peer review services that evaluated the expected safety, capacity, and operation of the existing design. MTJ’s design recommendations provided capacity for the near- to mid-term while ensuring safety for the entire design life. This roundabout design was a component of the Trunk Road Extension project.
-

14 Mile Rd. & Orchard Lake Rd. West Bloomfield Township, MI
MTJ Roundabout Engineering provided this innovative, high capacity, 3-lane entry roundabout design, including ADA pedestrian facilitation analysis and recommendations for this project.
-

67 St. & 30 Ave. Red Deer, AB, Canada
MTJ Roundabout Engineering provided analysis and design services for the first multi-lane roundabout in central Alberta, in the City of Red Deer. The proposed high-volume, multi-lane design was designed to provide safe and efficient vehicular operations, accommodate large trucks, and provide safety for non-motorized users. Pedestrian safety was a major consideration with three high schools planned nearby.
-

Shasta View Dr. & Old Alturas Rd. Redding, CA
The development of a new elementary school resulted in the need for a new road connection on a two-lane city arterial in Redding, California. A feasibility analysis determined that a modern roundabout would provide better traffic operations than a signal, and handle the extreme traffic volume variation associated with a school better than a signal. Based on this analysis, the City of Redding selected this new intersection for its first modern roundabout.
-

AB Hwy. 11 at Gaetz Ave. & Taylor Rd. Red Deer, AB, Canada
MTJ’s role was to determine the reasons for differing results from the two previous analyses and perform an independent analysis with Rodel to develop laneage recommendations to meet mid- and long-range traffic horizons. MTJ developed laneage recommendations to optimize safety for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic while maintaining long-range capacity objectives and adhering to the ROW constraints of the sites.
-

STH 15 / CTH CB & W. Greenville Dr. (CTH GV) / CTH CB
MTJ Roundabout Engineering provided the roundabout analysis, final horizontal design, and peer review for these closely spaced roundabouts. They are located at CTH CB and STH 15 (north) intersections and CTH CB and W. Greenville Dr./CTH GV (south). Additionally, we provided horizontal designs, vertical design recommendations, and signing and pavement markings. WIDOT contracted MTJ for the north roundabout and OTIE for the south roundabout.
-

19 St. at 30 Ave. / 40 Ave. Red Deer, AB, Canada
MTJ Roundabout Engineering, as a sub consultant, provided operational analysis and design services for these two roundabouts on 19 Street at 30 Ave. and 40 Ave. in the City of Red Deer. The proposed high-volume, multi-lane designs provided acceptable vehicular operations, accommodated large trucks, and provided safety for non-motorized users. Pedestrian safety was a significant consideration.
