MTJ Roundabout Engineering was retained by the RegiMTJ and provided roundabout peer review and design services for an existing three-leg stop-controlled roadway conversion to a four-leg roundabout to serve a developing area. The design successfully addressed these issues: constrained context, pedestrian safety, and accommodation of future expansion.
As a peer reviewer, MTJ was responsible for the capacity analysis and horizontal design of this roundabout that was opened in 2011. Key to this effort was facilitating business access, minimizing impacts, and ensuring a safe design for all modes of transportation. On of Waterloo to provide peer review services and develop horizontal design optimization recommendations for this roundabout located at a major bridge inlet. Key to this effort was ensuring pedestrian safety and preventing delays of heavy flows exiting the bridge.
