    MTJ Roundabout Engineering provided peer review, capacity analysis, and final horizontal geometrics as a sub-consultant to the WisDOT-led project team. MTJ provided oversight through 30-60-90% design. Plans included guidance on vertical profile control, pavement markings, signing, landscaping, and lighting.

  • Golden Center Freeway / McKnight Way Interchange Grass Valley, CA

    MTJ Roundabout Engineering’s Mark Johnson was the designer/reviewer responsible for operational analysis and final horizontal geometrics for this roundabout serving a major interstate. This challenging roundabout project includes two 6-leg interchange ramp terminal roundabouts.

  • Lake St. Louis Blvd. / Veterans Memorial Pkwy. / Interstate 70 Lake St. Louis, MO

    The City of Lake St. Louis conducted a concept study to improve the function of the two closely spaced intersections at Veterans Memorial Parkway and the eastbound ramps of I-70 on Lake St. Louis Blvd. This analysis included evaluating roundabout options for addressing the closely spaced intersections that were experiencing congestion and safety issues.

  • Trunk Rd. / Parks Hwy. / Fireweed Rd. Palmer, AK

    MTJ Roundabout Engineering provided a preliminary roundabout design, capacity analysis, and peer review for this interchange ramp terminal as part of the Trunk Road Extension project.

  • STH 60 & USH 45 Slinger, WI

    MTJ Roundabout Engineering provided the roundabout analysis, design, peer review for 30/60/90% plans, and public outreach support to WisDOT for this project. MTJ’s extensive roundabout design experience played a pivotal role in achieving the correct design solution and acceptance of the unique series of roundabouts.

  • USH 14 & STH 138 Oregon, WI

    This series of roundabouts accommodates traffic exiting from a major highway outside of the state capitol Madison. MTJ was responsible for horizontal design, public outreach, and signing and marking for this intersection.

  • Holman Hwy. 68 / Highway 1 Monterey, CA

    MTJ provided the roundabout operational analysis, final horizontal design, and design oversight of pavement markings (including field layout assistance) and signage for this project as a member of the consulting team led by Omni-Means. The roundabouts are primary access to Carmel, Pebble Beach, Pacific Grove, Monterey, and the Community Hospital (CHOMP).

  • Interstate 5 & Deschutes Rd. Anderson, CA

    The Interstate 5 and Deschutes Road interchange is at the southern tip of Anderson and serves a future-planned retail, commercial, industrial, and residential area. In response to large-scale development proposals, the MTJ/Omni-Means team provided the feasibility analysis and final construction plans for this significant entry to the community.

  • SR 99 / SR 104 / Twin Cities Rd. Galt, CA

    The MTJ/Omni-Means team developed a cost-effective and timely solution that included two closely spaced roundabouts and a new freeway on-ramp to replace the existing congested signalized intersection. This solution preserves the existing overcrossing and eliminates existing congestion while providing increased capacity of the interchange to accommodate future growth.

  • Interstate 43 & Moorland Rd. New Berlin, WI

    MTJ Roundabout Engineering’s Mark Johnson, PE, was the designer/reviewer responsible for capacity analysis and final horizontal geometrics for this roundabout serving a major interstate.

  • Dowling Rd. & Seward Hwy. Anchorage, AK

    MTJ’s roundabout analysis and design work as part of the Lounsbury project team supported a Preliminary Engineering Report (PEF) to re-evaluate and update a ‘Major Investment Study’ (MIS) and an ‘Environmental Assessment’ (EA) to determine the preferred interchange type. MTJ provided this study's roundabout-specific design and analysis component, including seven different interchange forms.

  • Hwy. 30 & Thompson Dr. Madison, WI

    While with the WIDOT Mark was the lead engineer working in a collaborative effort with The City of Madison, Dane County Highway Department to find solutions to existing traffic congestion and pedestrian and bicycle deficiencies associated with the Highway 30/Thompson Drive (off-ramp) and the Thompson Drive/Commercial Avenue-County Trunk Highway T intersection (on-ramp).

  • Interstate 94 & County Hwy. P, Pabst Farms Oconomowoc, WI

    MTJ Roundabout Engineering’s Mark Johnson, serving as a sub-consultant to R.A. Smith National, provided the capacity analysis, final horizontal designs, and peer review for this complex system of four roundabouts that feature single-lane to three-lane entries.
