Working with partner firm GHD, MTJ developed concept horizontal geometric mini-roundabout designs for the two intersections of Kelly Dr./Park Dr. and Kelly Dr./Hillside Dr. These designs were key components of the Complete Streets redesign of Kelly Drive.

Our horizontal geometric designs for these intersections are predicated on traffic engineering, roundabout design principles and project objectives, to include:

Adherence to speed control safety criteria

Optimal roundabout safety for all modes

Large truck/bus movements design vehicle

Minimize adverse ROW/environmental impacts

Match proposed new cross sections

Two roundabouts were developed to accommodate the new Complete Streets cross sections. There is only a slight variation between them on the north leg – all other geometrics remain the same.
