BACKGROUND
The City of Cleveland launched a rehabilitation project for Franklin Blvd. that included a series of 7 mini-roundabouts to promote traffic-calming along the corridor.

SUMMARY
Working with partner firm GPD Group, MTJ provided roundabout peer review and horizontal design optimization that included:
-Review of proposed mini-roundabout designs
-Developing final horizontal designs
-Documentation of designs and modifications
-Application of appropriate traffic and roadway design principles (system considerations)

MTJ’s design optimization/peer review approach ensured:
-Adherence to roadway and roundabout design safety principles
-State-of-the-practice mini-roundabout design techniques
-Safety for all modes – pedestrians, bicyclists, vehicles
