MTJ Roundabout Engineering provided capacity analysis, final horizontal geometrics, and signing and pavement markings for this project.
Recommendations included a wider entry width and short flare, which provide the following improvements:
- Ample capacity for predicted traffic volume and excess capacity if traffic projections are realized sooner
- ‘Balanced design’ from a capacity perspective
Additionally, wider entries for north- and south-bound have the added benefit of providing extra width for large trucks and the wide or long permitted load that may need to use this facility.
